Everything I’ve learned about the world, I’ve learned from performance

Ok, so what is a girl to do when she wants to spread the word about the solo performances she has seen. Wait a minute. I know what I can do. I can say a word or two about what I have learned from the more than sixty live solo performances that I have attended. Since I like to say, “Anything worthwhile that I know about this world we live in, I’ve learned from performance (and also the movies),” then it’s time to put my aphorism into action. I know, I’ll write a MONOLOGUE about the monologues I’ve seen. Wait! Even better, I’ll write a BLOG that also acts as a solo performance. That’s it! She’s got it! By Jove I think she’s got it! Ok, let’s do it…

Begin at my beginning. Once upon a time there was a girl who loved the theater. She loved it so much she begged her mother to take her to a Broadway show starting when she was 13. She loved it so much she even tried to be IN the theater leading to a very painful auditioning experience for a high school musical in the 9th grade (she didn’t get the part or indeed ANY part). She loved it so much she opted for a theater ticket for big-item presents like high school graduation rather than a princess phone or a stereo.
